How great would it be to know yourself well enough to confidently make decisions that support your growth and happiness?
There's pure magic in that space where your actions are aligned with your values!
What you stand for, your values, don’t have to make sense to anyone else but you.
This self-knowledge is helpful to vet new ideas to see how they might add to your fulfillment, or to decide whether the new information is meant to be considered but not incorporated into your life.
How you spend your free time is an indication of what your values are.
Here’s one way to know what you stand for.
Write 3 things you often do during your free time.
For example, here are some things you might do on a weekend, and possible associated values.
- Spend time in nature.
- Value: Recharging in Nature
- Hang out with friends or family.
- Value: Maintaining Relationships
- Visit a new place.
- Value: Exploration or Variety
The next time you need to make a decision, and you’re not sure what choice to make, try this exercise to identify your values.
Choose the option that most aligns with your values, in a way that supports your overall happiness.
