Using the Rainbow Reminder Tool is a quick way to help you shift out of an anxious or sad state.
The Rainbow Reminder Tool is a tool I developed to help me quickly shift into a more positive mindset, when I found myself dumpster diving into past negative memories, or creating unpleasant scenarios in my head about the future.
It’s helped me, and I’ve gotten great feedback from people who have tried it. I hope this helps you or someone you care about!
Here are some of the things it can help you with.
Maybe there was a situation in the past with your friends, family or co-workers that was stressful and keeps replaying over and over.
Maybe you find yourself worrying about something negative that happened regarding your career or finances or the career or finances of someone you care about.
You might be worried about a challenging discussion you need to have with someone, and how it might turn out.
Or, maybe you’re anxious about not ever having that amazing life you’ve been dreaming about.
You can’t control what happened in the past. You can control your thoughts about the past, which impact your feelings.
You can’t control what will happen in the future. You can influence your future, and your future impact on your loved ones and the world, through the action you take in the present.
When you’re anxious, sad or worried, it’s harder to be present. It is in this moment, and every present moment, that you can take the action necessary to show yourself that you can live, and are deserving of, a happy, fulfilled, thriving life!
Using the Rainbow Reminder Tool can help you feel better fast!
Here’s how it works.
When you're worried or sad about the future or past, picture a beautiful rainbow starting at the worrisome image you're seeing in your mind.
Next, see the rainbow arching towards you and landing in front of your feet with all of its beautiful colors and light. Focus on how amazing it is to see the rainbow up close.
If this is enough to bring your thoughts back to the present, so you can focus on the good things in your life, and on creating your amazing future, great!
If not, go a step further. Envision yourself seeing the sweet spectrum of light, on your body such as your arms, feet, or head.
What do you notice? Have fun with it. Let your imagination run in whatever direction it wants to go!
How do you see? - Are the colors you imagine brighter or a different color than expected?
How does the light feel? – Does it feel airy or does it have a weight to it? Does it have a cool texture? Is it warm or cool?
How do you feel? Lighter? Calmer? Happier? Did it make you laugh or smile?
Hopefully, it feels amazing and you were able to shift your thoughts, to change your mood!
The more you practice this, the quicker and more easily you can feel better fast…so you can create the life you want are so deserving of! You’ve got this!
